What is it?
RenovaLase® is a unique and innovative, non-invasive laser therapy for the symptoms of vaginal atrophy. It is based on non-ablative photothermal treatment of the vaginal canal. Clinical studies show that it is an efficient, easy-to-use, quick and safe procedure that eliminates the need for long-term estrogen administration.
The non ablative technology used with Er:Yag laser is very different from previous treatments (CO2 lasers). There has been some concerns in relation to previous lasers (scarring and pain) but these risks are not correlated with the use of Er:Yag laser.
What can I expect?
Treatments are simple and quick. No anaesthesia is required, you walk in and walk out and there are no complications or incisions. The procedure is incisionless and painless, with no cutting, bleeding, or downtime. A special handpiece, similar to a speculum as used during a Pap test, is inserted into the vagina. The vaginal region is then treated with subablative laser pulses. No special pre-op preparations or post-op precautions are necessary. You can immediately return to normal everyday activities after the treatment, which takes 15 to 20 minutes and is performed in an outpatient clinic. Your treatment is provided by a sensitive and highly qualified specialist.
